Summary:

When a nuclear station required a 2STX-XNS1 transformer replacement, they turned to EBI for expertise, precision, and efficiency. Understanding the complexities of bus duct modifications, the plant opted for EBI’s R3 Mobile Fabrication Unit on-site—ensuring real-time adaptability for any unforeseen fabrication needs.

Scope of Work:

Removed braids from Isolated Phase Bus (IPB) and Non-Segregated Bus (NSB) runs.
Demoed existing NSB runs, doghouses, IPB, and turret adapters.
Removed support steel interferences, beams, kickers, and the existing Neutral Ground Resistor (NGR).
Installed EBI-supplied IPB transformer turret adapters and reinstalled doghouses on the replacement transformer.
Assisted in aligning the new transformer for a seamless fit.
Reinstalled support steel interferences, beams, and kickers.
Reinstalled and precisely aligned the NSB system.
Welded IPB conductors, enclosures, conductor ends, and shorting plates for optimal system integrity.
Measured and fabricated new NSB braids to ensure proper connectivity.
Installed the customer-supplied replacement NGR and conducted a megger test to verify performance.
Reinstalled existing braids and covers for a complete system restoration.
Ensured a clean and organized worksite before demobilization.
